CRITERIA
Our mission is to support local politics in-line with President Obama’s agenda. Our Board and Local Politics Committee created a questionnaire and invited all Asheville City Council official candidates to respond. After receiving the responses, our Board and Local Politics Committee reviewed each response and voted on whom to invite based on our mission.

NOTE:
When we began planning for this forum, we decided to only invite official candidates that filed by the July deadline. Robin Cape was not invited to sit on the panel because she is not an official candidate. However, because she is a sitting Councilwoman and has announced her intention to run a write-in campaign, we asked her to complete a questionnaire. We have also asked her to make a 3 min introduction at the beginning of the forum. Also, Kelly Miller had notified us early on of a prior engagement on Sep 3. Both Robin Cape and Kelly Miller’s questionnaires were not officially reviewed by our members. However, we have posted their responses for the public.

Carl Mumpower and Shad Marsh were not invited based on their responses. All other candidates did not return a response.
